Hadith 199
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُهَاجِرٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَقِيلُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَهْبٍ، وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: تَسَمَّوْا بِأَسْمَاءِ الأَنْبِيَاءِ، وَأَحَبُّ الأسْمَاءِ إِلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: عَبْدُ اللهِ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، وَأَصْدَقُهَا: حَارِثٌ، وَهَمَّامٌ، وَأَقْبَحُهَا: حَرْبٌ، وَمُرَّةُ.
“the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Name yourselves with the names of the Prophets. The names which Allah Almighty loves most are 'Abdullah and 'Abdur-Rahman. The most truthful names are Harith and Humam. The ugliest names are Harb and Murra.”
