Hadith 231
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْيَحْصِبِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُسْرٍ، صَاحِبُ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ إِذَا أَتَى بَابًا يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَسْتَأْذِنَ لَمْ يَسْتَقْبِلْهُ، جَاءَ يَمِينًا وَشِمَالاً، فَإِنْ أُذِنَ لَهُ وَإِلا انْصَرَفَ.
“that, when the Prophet (ﷺ) came to a door, when he wanted to ask permission to enter, he did not face it directly. He stood to the right or the left. If he was given permission, he went in. Otherwise, he went away”
